Nice! I like how you are playing around with colors lately. You got a very neat result, with "yummy" brushstrokes and details. :)
There is just one thing I don't understand... is he sinking in mud, or falling off a clip?
You could try to add some more subtle details on the grass and the ground, yet maintaining the simplistic style to it. Just to add some more interest to the area around the man.

SandraS: Thank you! I am glad you like it. :) The idea was that something is pulling him down over the edge of a slope, but I never decided what's doing it. It could be the sand itself, or a creature of some kind... That's up to you, really. But the sand does cover him up, as you can see from his hand, so he's pretty doomed now, unless some extraordinary help arrives...
You are totally right about the details! Now that I look at it, the sand is a little too empty.
Thanks a lot for your helpful advices! :)

Lookin good, really like the expression on the figure as well as the use of color. It does feel a bit empty, however.

Like the sense of solitude, but even more so the humor . The story I got was that hes dying of first in the desert and happens to stumble across the remains of a similar scenario. Maybe a stronger differentiation between BG and FG (haze) might add a little extra .. . . or not . . . . . . Great use of the colour palette.

Very nice, I like the expression and the used colours very much.
The only thing that comes to my mind is that the shoulders could be a little bit broader for such a tough guy.

Great expression! That's vivid! but his left hands is somehow bothering me, why buried underground? and the angle his left arm stretch is not quite comfortable I think:)
