Description

Lately, I have been highly inspired by the art and designs of Tekken, actually I have been inspired by most of the game. I have drawn many, many fighters lately, and this is the one that I am most pleased with. Of course, not much of a self made design here, just a quite ordinary Tae kwon do suit, right? Anyway, I used a small drawing I found on the net as reference for the pose, to make sure I got the TKD pose right.

Hayeeeyaa! so where did the other fighter go? Ran away?
lol! one critic; it seem like you had worked on the gloves...very late...I feel so. It doesn't look as if he is wearing it...

but overall max 8+
cheers

Lol GULL, he is training. Alone. Ehrm. :p
Yeah, I agree about the glove. But I didn't draw that last, but a bit past the middle of the process. ;)

Nice work, good pose :) My only crit is that his left foot is a little bit too small. Well done :)

nice pick :) 2 crits, his left leg is at an awkwrd angle for kicking, and his toes should be pulled back (when you kick like that you pull your toes back and strike with the ball of your foot, otherwise you break your toes :( )

otherwise great pick, keep it up :)

Great character! If i can ...maybe is the perspective, but i think the foot is a bit small. I would have preferred a bg in this also (btw why you don't do bg ? ). Nice work indeed (thumbup)

No martial artists kick without having a steady stand with the entire suporting foot in the ground, it's a basic rule really. So when he kicks like that he has no guard or potential to still be standing if the other guy counters him.. Also I think his kicking foot should face the other way. If he kicks like that then he'll most probarbly have no power in the kick, really. Just a note, heh.. But a good drawing! :) Hope I didn't sound to negative, since it's something that everyone seems to catch lately, the negativity that is.. *hug* just in case ;)

his kicking foot seems to be a little small, but it's awesome so that doesn't really bother me. very nice. wish i could draw like that!

Very cool drawing :)

I think that his body should lean more to the left to balance out his raised leg to keep the torque in balance - it'll be hard to balance like that without automatically falling forward again I mean.

I really dont know anything great about how the pose should be when you kick.
The thing I kno is that I like the painting....

nicely done.

as shyam said you are missing loseness that is because you are still shy about structure. I suggest you keep practicing your figure drawing with live figuredrawing classes. it will boost your skills up. looseness will come with practice. face structure looks shy as well. keep going jane it only gets better! (B) keep sketching and joint the sketch club :p

okay, no comments from me for your drawing, I don't know about that, I'm a photographer ;) - but I've done tae kwon do for about two years and never seen that kick - I tried to do the kick you drawed here (now my back hurts) and I can't reproduce the movement one has to do to get into this pose.
I guess you wanted to draw a "yop-chagi" here - a sideward kick (correct me if I'm wrong). Then the kicking foot would face the other way and the body would bend a bit more forward.
I've done a google-search for some photos that could help you:

I hope this helps :)

Thank you for taking time to help me, Phryneas. :) It sure helps. Yeah, I guess it turned out a bit wrong, with my complete lack of experience with tae kwon do, and the little pic for reference, it had to be. Your links help me out a lot!
Oh, and sorry for injuring your back... :p
